Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is embedded in the business operations of AEB. Together with our partners, our aim is to solve responsible waste issues by recovering more and more raw materials and generating maximum energy from the remaining waste.
The international ISO 26000 guideline serves as a guideline for our policy in the field of CSR. Each CSR theme is important, but the three most relevant themes for AEB are: Environment, Working conditions and Involvement and development of society. We monitor our policy in dialogue with various internal and external stakeholders. If necessary, we tighten up our CSR policy.
Care for the environment is of course a primary concern for AEB. Emissions to the air remain subject to legislation, regulations and environmental permits. AEB converts various types of waste into energy and raw materials as sustainably and efficiently as possible. This avoids (net) CO2 emissions.
The industrial processes at AEB involve safety risks. At AEB, safety comes first, for our employees, for visitors and for the environment. Our goal is to make AEB an accident-free company.
Being in the business of raw materials and sustainable energy, AEB plays an important social role. We contribute to local employment, partly through our cooperation in the Recycle Service Centre (RSC) in Amsterdam. Here, people who are distanced from the labour market are given the chance of a regular job.
